Swedish Journalist Calls His Sons For Duty

So earlier this year Swedish journalist, Carl Magnus-Helgregren, apparently deeply concerned with his 10 and 11 year old sons' desire to play the new Call of Duty, took them on a trip to Israeli occupied territory to see first hand the real life consequences of armed conflict. I can't say I agree with his approach to parenting.

Few would argue against the purity of Carl's intentions or that the lesson he's trying to teach his children; that there's an unfathomably large gulf between virtual and real warfare, is not an important one, but nevertheless, I'd say that exposing them to things they're not emotionally mature enough to process will likely just leave them dumbstruck.

What do you think?

UPDATE:

I happened across this kind-of-related news tidbit a couple of days ago. Shown in that picture is a real life neo-Nazi Ukrainian fighter who wears a skull-painted balaclava and calls himself 'Phantom'. Sound familiar? That's because he's quite blatantly imitating what he's seen in Call of Duty: Ghosts, which features identical masks and a character of the same name.

The following may not be the most intelligent thing I've ever written - but that's seriously fucked up.
