"Shit just got real". |
I've just preordered a PS4 and a copy of Killzone: Shadow Fall from my local GAME store. GAME aren't by any means my high street retailer of choice, but bad experiences with Amazon et al with regards to preorders and a reluctance to deal with HMV as they teeter at the edge of the fiscal abyss left me with little alternative.
The staffer who took my preorder was a charming fellow, even if he did give me some misinformation. He claimed that Destiny was a launch title, when it is in actual fact scheduled to drop at some point in 2014, and also tried to sell me a bundle that included thirty days Playstation Plus subscription and Driveclub in addition to Killzone that, as I pointed out to him, is a bit of a jip since the first PS4 game included with Playstation Plus is Driveclub anyway. Good job I'm more clued up than him, eh?
I'm planning on getting the console and Killzone plus a twelve month Playstation Plus subscription initially, with a view to getting another game the following month, probably Diablo III, Watch Dogs or Call of Duty: Ghosts. I went with Killzone as my first game mainly because I loved the gameplay of the second title in the series, even if the story was dull as dishwater. I suppose the only snag with getting Killzone and Playstation Plus day one is the fact that Killzone is very likely to be given away as a Playstation Plus title fairly soon after launch given it's a big first party title, so I may miss out on some value there while I wait for something I don't already have to become available.
I'm planning on doing a full unboxing post when I finally get my hands on the console. Stay tuned.
