GOG.com, the internet's final resting place for DRM-free, new-OS compatible versions of your favorite PC games from yesteryear has finally given long standing fans their way and released System Shock 2.
Harking back from the days of Voodoo graphics cards and 200Mhz processors, System Shock 2 is considered to be on par with such revered PC classics as Half-Life and Deus Ex, although I am loathe to admit that I cannot confirm this first hand as it passed me by the first time around.
I've never used GOG, (an acryonym for 'good old games') before, but the service offered sounds very appealing. Not only are the downloadable classics on offer fully compatible with newer computers as I mentioned before, but are also provided completely free from any form of DRM and can be backed up to CD, External Storage or downloaded an unlimited amount of times from the GOG website.
I'll update on the service and the game when I've gotten around to trying it.
